Duracell Plus D batteries (LR20/MN1300) are high-performance alkaline batteries designed for reliable and long-lasting power in power-hungry everyday devices such as flashlights, boomboxes, and safety equipment.

The Duracell brand traces its origins back to the 1920s through a partnership between scientist Samuel Ruben and businessman Philip Rogers Mallory (P.R. Mallory & Co.). The 'Duracell' brand name was officially introduced in 1964. Throughout the late 20th century, the brand passed through several owners, including Kraft, Gillette, and Procter & Gamble.

In 2016, Duracell was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway Inc., the multinational conglomerate headed by Warren Buffett. While Duracell maintains manufacturing facilities internationally—including major European production in Aarschot, Belgium—certain specialty and larger sizes such as D and C batteries sold across European markets are prominently manufactured in the United States.
