Urtekram is a pioneering organic brand originally founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1972 by Lisbeth Damsgaard and Ronnie McGrail. The brand began as a small herb merchant shop and evolved into a major producer of organic food and body care products, maintaining a strong focus on natural ingredients and sustainability. Most of their personal care products are manufactured at their facility in Mariager, Denmark.

Today, the brand is owned by Midsona AB, a Swedish consumer goods company that specializes in health and wellness products. Midsona acquired Urtekram in 2015 to strengthen its position in the Nordic organic market. The brand continues to emphasize its Danish heritage and eco-friendly certifications like Ecocert Cosmos Organic and the Vegan Society mark.
