Puma is a globally recognized German multinational corporation that designs and manufactures athletic and casual footwear, apparel, and accessories. The brand was founded in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler, following a split with his brother Adolf 'Adi' Dassler (who founded Adidas). The company is headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria, Germany.

While the brand originated in Germany, Puma's manufacturing is decentralized. Like many large apparel brands, Puma socks and other textile products are manufactured in multiple countries across Asia and Europe, including China, Vietnam, and Turkey, to serve global markets efficiently.

Puma SE is a publicly traded company. Its largest shareholder for many years was the French luxury group Kering, but since 2018, Kering has distributed most of its Puma shares to its own shareholders, leaving Puma as a largely independent entity with institutional and private investors. It remains one of the world's leading sportswear brands.
