Eucerin AtopiControl is a specialized skincare product designed for atopic and very dry skin. The brand traces its roots back to 1882 when pharmacist Paul C. Beiersdorf founded his company in Hamburg, Germany. The actual 'Eucerin' name was born in 1900 when chemist Isaac Lifschütz patented 'Eucerit,' a revolutionary emulsifier that allowed for stable water-in-oil mixtures, forming the basis for modern dermatological ointments.

Today, Eucerin is a cornerstone of the global dermocosmetic market. While the brand originated and maintains its primary research and development hub in Hamburg, its products are manufactured across a global network of specialized facilities in countries including Germany, Poland, Mexico, and Spain to serve various international markets.

Ownership of the brand remains with Beiersdorf AG, a major German multinational. In turn, Beiersdorf is majority-owned by Maxingvest AG, the holding company of the Herz family (also known for the Tchibo brand). This stable ownership structure has allowed Eucerin to maintain its focus on clinical research and dermatological efficacy for over a century.
