Aveeno is a globally recognized American skincare and hair care brand, largely distinguished by its use of natural ingredients like colloidal oatmeal and soy. Founded in 1945 by brothers Albert and Sidney Musher in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, the brand was built on the therapeutic properties of finely milled oats. The name itself is derived from the scientific name for the common oat, Avena sativa.

Over the decades, Aveeno has evolved through several high-profile corporate ownerships. In 1999, it was acquired by Johnson & Johnson, which redesigned the brand into a high-end natural skincare leader. In 2023, Johnson & Johnson spun off its consumer health division into a separate company called Kenvue. Most recently, following an agreement announced in late 2025, the consumer products giant Kimberly-Clark reached a deal to acquire Kenvue. As of 2026, the transition of ownership is finalizing, positioning Kimberly-Clark as the ultimate parent company of the brand.

Aveeno products are manufactured in multiple locations across the globe to serve its international markets. Major production facilities are located in the United States, Canada, Korea, and several other countries in Asia and Europe. This diversified manufacturing strategy allows the brand to maintain high distribution standards for its dermatologically-focused products, which range from baby lotions and facial cleansers to specialized eczema treatments.
