La Molisana is a historic Italian pasta manufacturer based in Campobasso, Molise. Established in 1912 by the Carlone family, the brand has built a reputation for its high-quality durum wheat pasta, utilizing the pure air and water of the Matese mountains. This specific product, Nero di Seppia, is a specialty pasta flavored with squid ink, distinguished by its deep black color and bronze-drawn texture.

In 2011, after a period of financial difficulty, the company was acquired by the Ferro Family (Fratelli Ferro), who have a long-standing history as millers in the region. This acquisition created an integrated supply chain—known as the 'Filiera Integrata'—meaning the Ferro family controls every step from the selection of the grain and milling to the final production of the pasta. Today, La Molisana remains one of Italy's premier pasta brands, owned and operated by La Molisana S.p.A. under the Ferro family leadership.
