Originally launched in 1973, it was the first brand to offer a 'striped' toothpaste format. While the brand was originally developed by the British company Beecham Group, it transitioned through several corporate mergers into the hands of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). In recent years, GSK spun off its consumer healthcare division into a new independent entity known as Haleon. Consequently, Aquafresh is now owned and managed by Haleon, a British multinational worker-focused exclusively on consumer health products. Manufacturing occurs in various global facilities to serve local markets, with major European production hubs located in the UK and Slovakia.
