Nestlé KitKat Original

KitKat is a globally recognized chocolate-covered wafer bar that was originally created in the United Kingdom by Rowntree's of York in 1935. Initially launched as 'Rowntree's Chocolate Crisp', it was renamed KitKat Chocolate Crisp in 1937 and eventually shortened to simply KitKat after World War II. The brand has since become one of the most popular confectionery items in the world, known for its signature 'snap' and iconic 'Have a break, have a KitKat' marketing slogan.

Today, KitKat is primarily owned and produced by Nestlé on a global scale, except in the United States where it is manufactured under license by the Hershey Company. Because of its massive global presence, production takes place in numerous facilities across various continents, including major sites in the United Kingdom (York), Australia, Canada, and various locations across Asia and Europe. The brand continues to innovate with hundreds of unique local variations, particularly in Japan, while maintaining its core global identity under Nestlé’s Swiss leadership.
