Aquafresh, a prominent brand in oral care, was originally introduced in 1973 by Beecham Group in the United Kingdom as a unique 'striped' toothpaste. The brand's signature three-striped design historically represented triple protection: blue for minty breath, red for healthy gums, and white for strong teeth.

Over several decades, through various corporate mergers—most notably the formation of SmithKline Beecham and eventually GlaxoSmithKline (GSK)—the brand became part of one of the world's largest consumer healthcare portfolios. In 2022, GSK spun off its consumer healthcare division into a new independent company named Haleon. Today, Aquafresh is owned and operated by Haleon, which is headquartered in the United Kingdom and maintains a global manufacturing footprint, sourcing products from various facilities across Europe and North America to meet international demand.
