Ecover is a pioneering brand in the eco-friendly cleaning industry, founded in 1979 in Malle, Belgium. The brand was established with the goal of creating phosphate-free cleaning products to reduce environmental impact. It is well-known for being one of the first companies to introduce sustainable practices in the detergent sector, operating from its famous ecological factory in Belgium.

Over the decades, Ecover expanded its reach globally. In 2012, Ecover acquired the US-based eco-cleaning brand Method. Later, in 2017, the combined Ecover-Method company was acquired by SC Johnson. Today, Ecover is a major player in the sustainable household product market, benefiting from SC Johnson's global distribution network while maintaining its commitment to plant-based ingredients and recycled packaging.
