De Ruijter Chocolade Hagelslag

De Ruijter is a historic Dutch brand established in 1860 by Cornelis Willem de Ruijter in Baarn. The brand is deeply ingrained in Dutch culinary culture, particularly famous for its 'Hagelslag' (chocolate sprinkles) and 'Muisjes' (anise seed sprinkles). In 1883, the brand received the Royal Warrant, becoming a 'Purveyor to the Royal Household.'

Today, the product is primarily manufactured in the Netherlands, maintaining its heritage as a staple of the Dutch breakfast table. Ownership has transitioned from a family business to being part of global food conglomerates. It was acquired by CSM in the 1980s, then by Heinz (now Kraft Heinz) in 2001. As of 2026, it remains a key brand under the Kraft Heinz Company portfolio, managed as part of their international condiments and spreads division.
