Most Estrella products sold in Northern Europe are manufactured at their facility in Angered, outside Gothenburg, Sweden, using primarily Swedish-grown potatoes. Over the decades, ownership has changed hands several times. Today, Estrella is part of the Estrella Maarud Group, which is owned by Intersnack Group, a major European snack food manufacturer headquartered in Germany. This ownership provides the brand with extensive distribution networks across Europe while maintaining its local heritage in the Nordic market.
