Wasa is the world's largest producer of crispbread, a brand that originated in Skellefteå, Sweden, in 1919. Founded by Karl Edvard Lundström under the name Wasabröd, the company has grown from a local Swedish bakery into a global health-conscious brand known for its rye-based products.

In 1999, the brand was acquired by the Italian food giant Barilla Group. Today, Wasa products are manufactured primarily in two dedicated bakeries located in Filipstad, Sweden, and Celle, Germany. The brand remains a staple in European households, emphasizing sustainability and natural ingredients under the ultimate ownership of the Barilla family.
