The Lego Brick Separator is a specialized tool designed by The LEGO Group to assist builders in dismantling Lego pieces without damaging them. First introduced in 1988, the design has evolved, with the current orange and occasional yellow or teal versions being standard in many sets. It serves as a lever to pry bricks apart and a wedge to lift plates.
The Lego brand was founded in Billund, Denmark, by Ole Kirk Christiansen. Today, the brand remains under the private ownership of the Kirk Kristiansen family primarily through KIRKBI A/S. While the brand is deeply rooted in Danish heritage, its manufacturing is a global operation with major production facilities located in Denmark, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Mexico, and China. This distributed manufacturing network ensures the global supply of their iconic interlocking plastic bricks.
