General Original Portion Snus

General Snus is a world-renowned brand of Swedish smokeless tobacco, known for its distinct spicy tobacco blend with notes of bergamot, tea, hay, and leather. The brand was founded by Johan A. Boman in 1866, who spent four years developing the perfect tobacco recipe. Since its inception, General has remained a market leader in the snus category, maintaining a reputation for premium quality and traditional Swedish craftsmanship.

While the brand was originally developed and produced by the company Fiedler & Lundgren (later part of Svenska Tobaks AB), it has been a core part of the Swedish Match portfolio for decades. The manufacturing process takes place primarily in Sweden, at state-of-the-art facilities in Gothenburg and Kungälv, adhering to the GothiaTek quality standard. In late 2022 and early 2023, Philip Morris International completed a major acquisition of Swedish Match, bringing the heritage brand under the umbrella of one of the world's largest tobacco conglomerates as part of their transition toward smoke-free products.
