Estrella is a iconic Swedish snack brand that has been a staple of Swedish social gatherings since its inception. The brand was founded in 1946 by Folke Andersson, who was inspired by the snack culture he encountered in New York. The first production facility was established in Alingsås, Sweden, and for decades, it has remained one of the leading names in the Scandinavian snack market.

Today, Estrella is part of Intersnack Group, a major European snack food company. While ownership has changed through various corporate acquisitions over the years—including periods under Marabou, Kraft Foods, and Fazer—it is currently owned by the German-based Intersnack. Most products sold in the Swedish market are still manufactured at their factory in Angered, Gothenburg, maintaining their local heritage while operating within a global snack conglomerate.
