Puma is a globally recognized sports brand founded in Herzogenaurach, Germany. The company was established in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler following a split from the athletic shoe business he shared with his brother Adi Dassler, who went on to found Adidas. Puma has since grown into one of the world's leading sports lifestyle companies.

The manufacturing of Puma products is decentralized, occurring primarily in Asia. Key production hubs include Vietnam, China, Cambodia, and Indonesia, though the brand also utilizes facilities in Europe and South America to serve regional markets. Ownership of Puma has shifted significantly over the decades. In 2007, the French luxury group Kering (formerly PPR) acquired a majority stake.
