General White Snus

General is one of the world's most recognized snus brands, established in 1866 by the Swedish entrepreneur Johan A. Boman. The brand is deeply rooted in Swedish tobacco tradition, maintaining a recipe that features a sophisticated blend of over 20 different tobaccos and a hint of bergamot oil.

While the brand originated within the private firm AB J.A. Boman & Co, it eventually became part of the state-owned Svenska Tobaksmonopolet before moving into the portfolio of Swedish Match. In recent years, the ownership landscape shifted significantly; as of late 2022 and moving into 2026, the ultimate owner is Philip Morris International, following their successful acquisition of Swedish Match. Production remains concentrated in Sweden to ensure the product meets traditional quality standards.
