Kikkoman Soy Sauce with less salt

Kikkoman is one of the world's most recognized brands of soy sauce, with a history tracing back to 17th-century Japan. The brand as it exists today was officially incorporated in 1917 through the merger of eight family-owned businesses in Noda, Japan, including the Mogi and Takanashi families. While its spiritual and corporate home remains in Japan, Kikkoman has expanded its manufacturing footprint globally to meet international demand.

For the European market, most of the Kikkoman soy sauce is produced at their state-of-the-art facility in Sappemeer, Netherlands, which opened in 1997. This specific 'less salt' (Salsa de Soja con menos sal) variety is naturally fermented and then undergoes a special process to remove approximately 43% of the sodium content while maintaining its characteristic umami flavor. The brand is still owned by the Kikkoman Corporation, a publicly traded company headquartered in Noda, Chiba Prefecture, Japan.
