Founded by the Jordan family at Holme Mills in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, the company has a long legacy of milling grain dating back to the 19th century. In 1972, the Jordans brothers pioneered the first crunchy granola in the UK market, emphasizing whole grains and natural ingredients.

Today, while Jordans maintains its British roots and continues to produce most of its items in the United Kingdom, it is no longer an independent family-owned business. In 2008, a majority stake was sold to Associated British Foods (ABF). Currently, the brand is part of the Jordans Dorset Ryvita (JDR) division, which is a subsidiary of Associated British Foods. ABF is a global food, ingredients, and retail giant headquartered in London, ensuring that Jordans products are distributed widely across international markets like the Netherlands.
