Pickwick is a historic tea brand with roots dating back to 1753, when Egbert Douwes opened a small shop in Joure, Netherlands. Originally sold under the Douwe Egberts name, the tea was rebranded as 'Pickwick' in 1937, inspired by Charles Dickens' novel The Pickwick Papers. The name was suggested by the wife of the company's director at the time, who was an admirer of Dickens' work.

Today, Pickwick is a global brand known for its wide variety of black, green, and fruit teas. It is primarily manufactured at the JDE Peet's factory in Joure, Netherlands, though some production also takes place in other European locations like Belgium to serve international markets. The brand is currently owned by JDE Peet's, a Dutch-American beverage conglomerate formed by the merger of Jacobs Douwe Egberts and Peet's Coffee, which remains headquartered in the Netherlands.
