The brand is known for its integrated supply chain, utilizing locally sourced Italian durum wheat stone-hulled to preserve nutritional properties and mountain water from the Matese massif.

In 2011, after a period of financial difficulty, the brand was acquired by the Ferro Family, a lineage of millers with over a century of experience. This acquisition allowed the company to control the entire production process from grain selection to the final dried pasta. Today, La Molisana remains a privately owned Italian company under the Ferro family's leadership, maintaining its headquarters and primary manufacturing facilities in Campobasso, Italy.
