La Molisana is a historic Italian brand of pasta founded in 1912 by the Carlone family in Campobasso, Molise. The company is renowned for using 100% Italian durum wheat and mountain water, and for its bronze-die extrusion process which gives the pasta a rough texture perfect for holding sauces.
After facing financial difficulties in the early 21st century, the brand was acquired in 2011 by the Ferro family (Fratelli Ferro), who own a long-standing milling business. This acquisition created an integrated supply chain where the company controls everything from the selection of the grain to the final production of the pasta. Today, La Molisana remains one of the leading pasta exporters globally, maintaining its headquarters and production facilities in Campobasso, Italy.
