Estrella is one of Sweden's most iconic snack brands, known primarily for its potato chips and popcorn. The brand was founded in 1946 by Algot Starck in Gothenburg, Sweden. The name 'Estrella' actually means 'star' in Spanish, reflecting the brand's logo.
Today, Estrella is part of the Estrella Maarud Group, which is owned by the German snack food powerhouse Intersnack Group. While the brand has an international ownership structure, it maintains a strong local presence with its primary manufacturing facility located in Angered, Gothenburg, where it produces a wide variety of flavors tailored to Nordic palates, such as the Browned Butter (Brynt Smör) and Garlic variety shown.
