Ecover is a pioneering brand in the ecological cleaning sector, founded in 1979 in Belgium. The brand was established with the mission to create phosphate-free cleaning products that minimize environmental impact. Its first 'ecological factory' in Malle, Belgium, became a landmark for sustainable manufacturing, featuring a grass roof and reclaimed materials.

Over the decades, Ecover expanded its reach globally, becoming a leader in green chemistry and sustainable packaging. In 2012, Ecover acquired the American brand Method, forming a powerful alliance in the green cleaning market. In 2017, both Ecover and Method were acquired by S.C. Johnson & Son, a major American multinational, integrating the eco-friendly brand into a larger global distribution network while maintaining its specialized production facilities in Europe.
