Duracell CR 2025 Batteries

Duracell is one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-performance alkaline batteries, specialty cells, and rechargeables. The brand was established in the 1920s through a partnership between scientist Samuel Ruben and businessman Philip Rogers Mallory. The Duracell name itself was introduced in 1964 as a contraction of 'durable cell'. Since its inception in the United States, the brand has become a household name globally, recognized for its iconic copper-top design and the Duracell Bunny mascot.

Over the decades, Duracell has transitioned through several major owners, including Kraft Foods and Gillette. In 2005, Procter & Gamble acquired the brand as part of the Gillette merger. However, in 2016, Duracell was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway, the multinational conglomerate led by Warren Buffett. Today, Duracell operates as a standalone subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, maintaining its headquarters in Bethel, Connecticut.

Manufacturing for Duracell products is a global operation. While the company maintains significant production facilities in the United States and Europe, many of its specialty lithium coin cells, such as the CR 2025 shown here, are manufactured in China to meet global demand through high-efficiency production centers.
