It originated from the discovery of Eucerit, an innovative emulsifying agent developed by Dr. Isaac Lifschütz, which allowed for the creation of stable water-in-oil emulsions. The brand was quickly acquired by Oscar Troplowitz, the founder of Beiersdorf, who recognized its medical potential.

Today, Eucerin is a global leader in dermo-cosmetics, specializing in solutions for sensitive, dry, and aging skin. While the brand's research and development remain centered at Beiersdorf's Skin Research Center in Hamburg, Germany, its manufacturing is distributed internationally. While much of the production for the European market happens in Poland and Germany, products for the Americas are often manufactured in Mexico.
