Originally founded in 1837 by Danish immigrant Wilhelm Jordan in Oslo, Norway, the company started by manufacturing combs and brushes before expanding into toothbrushes in 1927. Today, Jordan is part of the Orkla Group, a major Norwegian conglomerate that acquired the brand in 2012. While the brand is deeply rooted in Norway and its products are developed there, manufacturing is spread across several locations to serve its global markets. Toothpastes are primarily produced in Sweden (Falun), while other products like toothbrushes and dental accessories are manufactured in countries including Malaysia, China, and India. The brand is recognized for its focus on Scandinavian design, functionality, and sustainability, notably through its 'Green Clean' product line.
