Wasa Delikatess Sesam crispbread

Wasa is a historic Swedish brand founded in 1919 by Karl Edvard Lundström in Skellefteå. The brand quickly became the world's largest producer of Scandinavian-style crispbread (knäckebröd). Its main manufacturing facility has been located in Filipstad, Sweden, since 1931, where the majority of its products are still baked today. To meet global demand, Wasa also operates a large bakery in Celle, Germany.

While the brand maintains a strong Swedish identity and heritage, its ownership has transitioned over the decades. In 1999, Wasa was acquired by the Italian food giant Barilla Group. Today, it operates as a key brand within Barilla's global portfolio, promoting its Swedish roots while being managed from Italy. The brand is also notable for its commitment to sustainability, being certified as 100% CO2 compensated.
