Estrella Savoury Snacks

Estrella is a leading Swedish brand of savoury snacks, most famous for its potato chips and popcorn. The brand's journey began in 1946 in Gothenburg when Karin and Algot Estrella started selling snacks, eventually becoming a staple in Swedish households. Today, the main production facility is located in Angered, just outside Gothenburg, where the majority of their Swedish market products are manufactured using locally sourced potatoes.

Ownership of Estrella has transitioned through several major corporations over the decades. Originally a local family-owned business, it became part of the Marabou group and later Kraft Foods. In 2012, Estrella was acquired by the Intersnack Group, a major German snack food manufacturer. Under Intersnack, Estrella continues to operate as a strong regional brand while benefiting from the global infrastructure and resources of one of Europe's largest snack companies.
