Freeway soft drink

Freeway is the private label soft drink brand of the international discount supermarket chain Lidl. The brand was created to provide consumers with high-quality alternatives to major global soda brands at a more accessible price point. Its product range includes various flavors such as cola, lemon-lime, orange, and diet variants.

While the brand is headquartered in Germany under the Schwarz Group, manufacturing is decentralized. To minimize logistical costs and carbon footprint, the products are typically bottled in the region or country where they are sold. This is often handled by Lidl-owned beverage production facilities, such as the Mitteldeutsche Erfrischungsgetränke (MEG) plants in Germany, or through strategic third-party contract manufacturers abroad.

As part of the Lidl portfolio, Freeway is a key component of the Schwarz Group's retail strategy, which emphasizes vertical integration by producing many of its own products. This ensures consistent quality control and pricing across thousands of stores in Europe and the United States.
