Jordan is a historic Scandinavian brand specializing in oral hygiene, originally founded in 1837 by Wilhelm Jordan in Christiania (now Oslo), Norway. What began as a modest comb-making business evolved into a global leader in dental health tools, including toothbrushes and interdental cleaners like the Clean Between dental sticks shown.
In 2012, Jordan was acquired by the Orkla Group, a prominent Norwegian industrial conglomerate and leading supplier of branded consumer goods. This acquisition integrated the brand into Orkla's Home and Personal Care division, facilitating its expansion into over 50 global markets.
While the brand maintains its headquarters and design roots in Norway, its manufacturing footprint is international. Production for plastic and interdental products often takes place in Malaysia to serve global markets, while wooden dental sticks were traditionally made in Norway or China. Toothpastes under the brand are manufactured in Sweden.
