LU Digestive Fullkorn is a whole-grain variation of the classic digestive biscuit, a brand with deep historical roots in France. The LU brand, an acronym for Lefèvre-Utile, was founded in Nantes, France, in 1846 by Jean-Romain Lefèvre and Pauline-Isabelle Utile. What began as a small family patisserie evolved into a global icon of the biscuit industry, famous for products like the Petit Beurre.
Today, the LU brand is part of the extensive portfolio of Mondelēz International, an American multinational confectionery and snack food giant. Mondelēz acquired the biscuit division from Groupe Danone in 2007 (initially under Kraft Foods). Because LU is a global brand with a massive supply chain, these biscuits are produced in multiple countries to serve various regional markets, including facilities in Europe and beyond. In the Nordic market, LU products are distributed and managed by local subsidiaries of Mondelēz International.
