Aveeno is a prominent American clinical skincare brand founded in 1945 by brothers Albert and Sidney Musher. The brand was established through research with the Mayo Clinic, where the founders discovered the skin-soothing properties of finely milled colloidal oatmeal (Avena sativa), which remains the signature ingredient for the brand today.

Historically, the brand was acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 1999, which transformed it into a global leader in natural-based dermatological care. In 2023, Johnson & Johnson completed a strategic spin-off of its consumer health division into a new independent entity named Kenvue. In a major industry shift late in 2025, the consumer goods giant Kimberly-Clark reached an agreement to acquire Kenvue, placing Aveeno under its ultimate corporate umbrella as of 2026.

Aveeno products are manufactured across a global supply chain to serve various markets. While many formulations are produced in the United States, production also takes place in Canada, France, and Greece to meet regional demand and distribution requirements.
