Red Bull The Tropical Edition is a fruit-flavored variant of the iconic energy drink, originally launched to provide the same functional benefits as the classic version with a tropical taste profile. The brand's history is a unique collaboration between East and West; it was inspired by a Thai drink called Krating Daeng, created by Chaleo Yoovidhya in 1976. Austrian entrepreneur Dietrich Mateschitz discovered the drink during a business trip and partnered with Yoovidhya to adapt it for international markets, officially launching Red Bull in Austria in 1987.
Today, Red Bull is a global powerhouse managed by Red Bull GmbH, headquartered in Fuschl am See, Austria. While the brand is synonymous with Austrian marketing and sports ownership, the majority stake (51%) is held by the Thai Yoovidhya family, with the remaining 49% held by the Mateschitz family following Dietrich's passing. Manufacturing is highly efficient and decentralized, with primary production occurring in Austria and Switzerland through long-term partners like Rauch Fruchtsäfte, as well as various regional bottling facilities around the world to serve over 170 countries.
