Jordan is a historic Scandinavian dental care brand with over 180 years of heritage. Originally founded in Oslo, Norway, in 1837 by Danish immigrant Wilhelm Jordan, the company first specialized in comb-making before expanding into brushes and eventually pioneering oral care products in 1927.
While the brand is Norwegian by birth and identity, its modern toothpaste line is prominently labeled as "Scandinavian Toothpaste." The development and design of these products are carried out in Norway, while the physical manufacturing of the toothpaste primarily takes place at an Orkla-owned facility in Falun, Sweden. Depending on the specific product variant (such as certain kid's toothpastes), production may also occur in other locations like Malaysia or Switzerland to serve global markets.
Since 2012, Jordan has been part of the Orkla Group, a leading Norwegian conglomerate and one of the largest suppliers of branded consumer goods in the Nordics and Baltics. This acquisition successfully transitioned the long-standing family business into a multi-national corporate structure while maintaining its commitment to Scandinavian design and quality standards.
