La Molisana is a historic Italian pasta manufacturer founded in 1912 by the Carlone family in Campobasso, the capital of the Molise region. The brand name literally means "the one from Molise," reflecting its deep regional roots and commitment to local tradition. For decades, it operated as an artisanal workshop before expanding into a major industrial player.

In 2011, the company was acquired by the Ferro Group, a prominent Italian milling family with over a century of expertise in grain processing. This acquisition transformed La Molisana into a vertically integrated powerhouse, controlling the entire supply chain from the selection and milling of durum wheat to the final production of pasta. The company is particularly noted for using 100% Italian durum wheat and pure mineral water from the Matese mountains.

Today, La Molisana is recognized as the second largest pasta brand in the premium segment in Italy. The Ferro family continues to own and manage the business, maintaining its headquarters and production facilities in Campobasso. The brand has expanded its global footprint, exporting to over 80 countries, and is often cited for its innovation in pasta shapes and sustainable, compostable packaging initiatives.
