The manufacturing for these specific products primarily takes place at the Estrella factory in Angered, Gothenburg, Sweden. The brand emphasizes the use of locally sourced potatoes and sunflower/rapeseed oil blends to cater to Nordic taste preferences and sustainability standards.

While originally a Swedish venture, the brand has transitioned through various corporate owners over the decades. It is currently owned by Intersnack Group, a major European snack food company headquartered in Germany. Intersnack acquired Estrella as part of its acquisition of the Nordic snack division (Estrella Maarud) from Kraft Foods/Mondelēz in 2014, solidifying its position in the Northern European market.
