Wasa Husman Crispbread

Wasa is the world's largest producer of crispbread, a traditional Scandinavian rye cracker. The brand was founded in 1919 in Skellefteå, Sweden, by Karl Edvard Lundström under the name Skellefteå Spisbrödsfabrik. It later moved to Filipstad, which remains its primary production hub today.

The brand has undergone several ownership changes in its history. In 1982, it was acquired by the Swiss company Sandoz (which later merged to form Novartis). In 1999, the brand was sold to the Italian pasta giant Barilla. Today, Wasa is an integral part of the Barilla Group's portfolio, with its main manufacturing facilities located in Filipstad, Sweden, and Celle, Germany.
