Pickwick is a renowned tea brand with a heritage dating back to 1753 when Douwe Egberts founded a small grocery business in Joure, Netherlands. The brand name 'Pickwick' was officially introduced in 1937, inspired by Charles Dickens's novel The Pickwick Papers, chosen by the wife of the director because it sounded sophisticated and quintessentially British.

Historically part of the Dutch company Douwe Egberts, the brand has transitioned through several major corporate mergers and acquisitions. Today, it is part of the global coffee and tea giant JDE Peet's. While the brand maintains its headquarters and primary blending facilities in the Netherlands, its tea leaves are sourced from various tropical regions globally and processed in various international facilities to meet European and global demand.
