Founded in 1860 by C.P. de Ruijter in Baarn, the brand gained prestigious recognition, including the title of 'Purveyor to the Royal Household'. Historically, the brand remained family-owned until it was acquired by CSM in 1990. It later became part of the Heinz portfolio in 2001.
