Kikkoman Soy Sauce is an iconic global condiment, instantly recognizable by its signature drip-free glass dispenser designed by Kenji Ekuan in 1961. This specific packaging is a staple in both residential kitchens and restaurants worldwide. The brand's history is deeply rooted in Japan, dating back to the 17th century through the Mogi and Takanashi families in the city of Noda. In 1917, these family-run businesses merged to form the Noda Shoyu Co., Ltd., which eventually became the Kikkoman Corporation.

While the brand originated in Japan, Kikkoman has a massive manufacturing footprint in North America. Since 1973, a significant portion of the soy sauce sold in the United States and Canada has been produced in Walworth, Wisconsin, at what is now one of the world's most productive soy sauce plants. Another major facility operates in Folsom, California. Today, the Kikkoman Corporation remains an independent public company headquartered in Noda, Japan, continuing to be led by descendants of its founding families and serving as the global market leader in the soy sauce industry.
