Ecover was founded in Belgium in 1980 as a pioneer in ecological cleaning products, focusing on plant-based and biodegradable ingredients. In 2017, Ecover along with its sister brand Method was acquired by SC Johnson, a major American multinational privately held manufacturer of household cleaning supplies and other consumer chemicals. Today, Ecover products sold in the United Kingdom are largely manufactured in European facilities, including plants in Belgium and France, maintaining the brand's original commitment to environmental sustainability.
