Timberland is an American manufacturer and retailer of outdoor footwear and apparel, originally founded in 1952 by Nathan Swartz as the Abington Shoe Company in Boston, Massachusetts. The company introduced its iconic waterproof yellow boot under the Timberland brand name in 1973, which became so popular that the entire company was renamed The Timberland Company in 1978.
In 2011, Timberland was acquired by VF Corporation (Vanity Fair Mills), a prominent American global apparel and footwear conglomerate headquartered in Denver, Colorado. VF Corporation manages a wide portfolio of lifestyle and outdoor brands, including The North Face, Vans, Dickies, and Supreme.
While design and brand direction are managed under VF Corporation, Timberland socks and accessory items are manufactured across global textile hubs. As indicated on the product packaging ("Made in Cambodia"), these crew socks were produced in Cambodia.
