Lexar SSD

Lexar is a well-known international brand of flash memory and solid-state storage products, including internal and external SSDs, SD cards, and USB flash drives widely available across the United Kingdom.

The brand was originally founded in 1996 in San Jose, California, as Lexar Media, a spinoff from Cirrus Logic. For many years, Lexar was a subsidiary of the American semiconductor company Micron Technology, which acquired it in 2006. Under Micron, Lexar established itself as a premier brand for consumer digital storage solutions.

In 2017, Micron discontinued the Lexar retail removable media storage business and sold the Lexar brand and trademark assets to Shenzhen Longsys Electronics Co., Ltd. (Longsys), a prominent Chinese flash memory design and manufacturing enterprise headquartered in Shenzhen, China. Today, Lexar SSDs and memory products are engineered, produced, and distributed globally under Longsys ownership, with primary manufacturing operations located in China and assembly partners across East Asia.
