Actifed is a well-known brand of over-the-counter cold and decongestant medication combining triprolidine and pseudoephedrine. It was originally formulated and introduced in the mid-20th century by Burroughs Wellcome & Company, a British pharmaceutical firm that later merged into GlaxoWellcome (and subsequently GlaxoSmithKline).
The consumer healthcare brands of Burroughs Wellcome/Warner-Lambert were later acquired by Pfizer, and then transferred to Johnson & Johnson in 2006. In 2023, Johnson & Johnson completed the spin-off of its consumer health division into Kenvue Inc., an independent consumer health enterprise headquartered in the United States.
In Italy, Actifed tablets are marketed by Johnson & Johnson S.p.A. (a Kenvue company) and manufactured locally at their production facility in Santa Palomba (Pomezia), Rome.
