Brand History and Heritage

Ybarra is one of Spain's most iconic and storied agri-food brands, with roots dating back to 1842 when José María Ybarra Gutiérrez de Caviedes founded the company in Seville. Known originally for its high-grade olive oils, the brand expanded over the decades into mayonnaises, salad dressings, and a wide variety of specialty sauces, becoming a staple in Spanish households.

Manufacturing and Sourcing

The product is manufactured directly in Spain at the modern production facility in Dos Hermanas (Seville), Andalusia. Following a major fire at their historical factory in 2016, Grupo Ybarra opened a cutting-edge production complex in 2018 equipped with advanced food manufacturing technologies.

Corporate Ownership

Today, the brand operates under Grupo Ybarra Alimentación, S.L., a joint venture (50/50 partnership) formed in 2009 between the historical Hijos de Ybarra family business and Migasa (Grupo Miguel Gallego S.A.), one of Spain’s largest olive oil exporters and food processing conglomerates headquartered in Seville, Spain.
