The water is sourced from the Fuencaliente spring located in the town of Solares, Cantabria. It became widely recognized after being declared of public utility in 1828 and has since been a staple in Spanish households.

The brand and the bottling plant are managed by Mantequerías Arias through its subsidiary, Agua de Solares, S.A. The ownership trace leads to the Savencia Fromage & Dairy group, a French multinational specialized in food products. Despite being part of a large international group, the production remains strictly localized at the original spring in Cantabria to maintain its specific mineral characteristics and geographic identity.
