Mainland is an iconic dairy brand synonymous with high-quality New Zealand cheese. Its history dates back to 1954 when it was founded to provide aged cheddar to the local market. The brand is famous for its slow-aging process, particularly for its Vintage and Epicure varieties, which are often aged for up to 24 months to develop a signature sharp and crumbly texture.

Today, Mainland is owned by Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited, a massive dairy co-operative owned by thousands of New Zealand farming families. While the brand is a staple in New Zealand, it is also widely exported to Australia and parts of Asia and the United Kingdom.
