Vitana Dlouhozrnná rýže (Long-grain rice)

Vitana is one of the most recognized traditional brands in the Czech Republic, with roots dating back to its founding in 1919 when it began as a spirits factory before moving into food products like soup cubes. While the brand carries a strong Czech heritage, its long-grain rice is typically sourced from various global agricultural regions, particularly in Asia or Southern Europe, and then packaged for the Central European market.

Today, Vitana is no longer a Czech-owned company. It underwent international acquisition and became part of the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla ASA, which integrated Vitana with another regional giant, Hamé, to form Orkla Food Ingredients and Consumer Brands divisions within the region. This evolution reflects the broader trend of historic national brands being absorbed into large multinational European food groups to leverage wider distribution and supply chain efficiencies.
